I absolutely love Friends of Type and enjoy visiting their site almost everyday to see all the lovely type these 4 friends love to make and show to the rest of the world as inspirational pieces of art. I've talked about them here before but thought i'd re-introduce them. The following fellows are responsible for creating the majority of the work on this site and its daily operations: Aaron Carambula • Erik Marinovich • Dennis Payongayong & Jason Wong and they are really really nice! Friends of Type features original typographic design and lettering – fresh visual content – practically every day, by theses four primary contributors. Posts are meant to log ideas, to express themselves, and inspire each other and their readers (like us). The last week of every month they feature a guest designer, someone they admire and think will elevate their own work and the site through their contribution. Feature designers have in the past included Jon Contino and Jessica Hische to name but a few. Make sure to bookmark www.friendsoftype.com

How insanely R A D I C A L is this shit? Vox musical instruments approached car designer, George Barris in the '60s about building them a custom roadster that would function both as a car and as a mobile amplifier, designed to be used for promotional purposes. The result was the Voxmobile, a vehicle with a Vox guitar silhouette that served as a functioning amp that could support up to 32 guitars, and also featured a working Vox organ in the rear deck. Holy fucking shit that is RAD! Goes without saying... if i had my liscenece i wood want one. And... Barris also designed Drag-U-La, for The Munsters and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
