I came across the work of German artist Bene Rohlmann in an article in a small paper over in London and was instatly into his work from the get go. His website doesn't tell you much nor does it have a lot of work on it. But between this and his Flickr site it gives you good insight into his weird and wacky style. There is always something i find really cool about seeing a two headed, two armed, four eyed circus freak with a face for a thigh that i find incredibly amusing. Don't you? i haven't come across one in real life so that's what i like about the make-believe world of Bene. You can check out more of his fine pen work on his website >> www.pearpicker.de and his flickr >> www.flickr.com/photos/the_pearpicker

From the same guy that brought you the remake of the Monopoly boardgame comes the The Rubber Bandit: the rubber band gun for the lady or gentleman that knows better than to grow up. Handcrafted out of curly maple and bloodwood by Pennsylvanian designer Andy Mangold, The Rubber Bandit comes complete with interchangeable barrels, allowing the bearer to fine tune the amount of damage he or she inflicts. Shit YEAH! and the Package Reads: "DANGER! This rubber band gun, handcrafted to the highest standards, is capable of inflicting 1st and 2nd degree welts, contusions, and bruises, on the supple flesh of it's targets. For safety's sake, it should only be wielded by a trustworthy and licensed adult. For fun's sake, place it in the hands of your craziest, most demented, deranged, unbalanced, loose-cannon of a friend, and watch the rubber fly." Needless to say I FUCKING WANT ONE!!!. Check out more of Andy's finely tuned work on his website >> www.andymangold.com

Well, with the olympics drawing nearer to a close i'm pretty happy that the flipping curling is almost over. C'mon, seriously, how the heck did a sport like that ever get accepted into the olympics against gladiator sports like the downhill, moguls, aerials and even though they're new to the roster, the snowboard halfpipe and boarder/skier cross? And i tell you what living in the UK doesn't help either where curling is a BIG thing, it's all they flipping have on the telly!!! But, i guess they have to have a boring sport in the mix aswell just to balance the shit out but at least tough it up a bit, play some metal, get some half naked cheerleaders out on the ice, beer & nacho hats, mexican waves and beach balls, that should at least create some atmosphere. So on this Happy monday i just want you all to know i think curling SUCKS!!!
I just found this really cool short film on Vimeo called 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 by Job Wouters & Roel Wouters for the If You Could Collaborate exhibition. In the film they use a new spray-painting machine they invented called the Rainbow gun, which essentially can spray up to five different colour individually or simultaneously to spray the numbers 1 till 7. That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. But what i like the most about the film is the overall styling. Their matching shirts add that extra bit of detail and the bowler caps give it that kind of charlie chaplin silent movie vibe which is always a good thing. Below are some stills from the film along with the vimeo link. Make sure you check out some of the other collaborations found on the If You Could Collaborate website while you're at it. There are some seriously good projects going on there.
