Hey everyone, i'd like to introduce you to Mister Meat. Mister Meat is a London based designer who likes making logos. Over at the meatshop (his website) you will find all kinds of succulent cuts and logos he's created that depict things he's seen or experienced, as well as a bunch of stuff from his day job as a designer. He's also currently looking to get involved in new projects so If you're looking for a saaaweeeeeet new logo or a fancy illustration of sorts you had better get in touch with him before the meat goes off. I suddenly feel like a good steak now. You can see all the good stuff from Mister Meat's chopping board over at >> www.mistermeat.co.uk

Every now and again the world is faced up against a dominant superpower. In the creative world that would be PEACHBEACH, an army of three village delinquents Attila Szamosi, Falk Hoger & Lars Wunderlich who moved to setup in the great German capital of Berlin. According to the 3 lads they chose this as their base/headquarters because of its vibrancy and dazzling colours. Harnessing varied cultural backgrounds, Attilla, Falk and Lars were able to use different expressive accents to their advantage, fusing their diverse creative approaches into one edgy mix of illustrative force, sensitive typography and ironic societal games. Look out for them on the creative battlefield. They're the ones causing mass reactions! Check them out here >> www.peachbeach.de and on their behance network page here

Martine Johanna is a Dutch artist/illustrator who packed up her 10 year job as a womens fashion designer to explore her more creative side. Good move we reckon. Her illustrations are simply beautiful and feature a great diversity in their subject matter and medium. They still feature a strong connection to the fashion world which clearly seems to be a great source of inspiration for her as a practising artist. Martine says she has no connotations towards a certain field and sometimes even tends to work in 3D or making stop motion movies from photography and sculpture. Ever since she was little childhood drawing was a wonderful escape, dreaming of other realities and believes her work reveals parts of her own personality in which lies a slightly darker side and an undertow of sexual tension. The mother of all advertising agencies MOTHER NYC have gone and put together a saaaaweeeeeeeeeet documentary following the day to day lives of some of the most freekin talented artists you'll ever bare witness to in their new short film 'UP THERE' for Stella Beer. Yes, Mother are an advertising agency so this had to be linked with a brand of some sort, somehow but trust me, you'll have a new found love for the beer and brand after watching this. The sheer brilliance of this film however is not only in the subjects (artists) themselves but through the beauty of the photography, an openess with the artists and a nice sense of harmony through what's a nice soundtrack. If you're into old school signwriting then this is the doco for you. Below is the trailer but the full doco can be viewed on vimeo here

Well, it's sign overload day today!!! After learning about the Mother 'Up There' doco i also discovered through Wooden Toys new french resistance operative some news there is a tasty signpainting movie in production as i type. The Sign Painter movie is currently in Production as of March 2010 and is a documentary about the wonderful lives of sign painters in America featuring some greats like Jeff Canham, Steve 'Espo' Powers, New Bohemia Signs and oldschool masters like Bob Dewhurst & Jimmie "the saint". It's a film about those who were and still are walking the streets and using their talent to get a message across. You see their work daily on windows, sandwich-boards, boats, cars, billboards, in businesses, playgrounds, farmers markets and even theme parks to name a handful of spots. Who are these people? Where did they learn their trade and is it a dying craft? Directors Faythe Levine & Sam Macon will bring you their story over the next few years and document the process on their blog. You can keep up to date on the process at http://signpaintermovie.blogspot.com
