Well, there's so many weird and wonderful things happening on the pitches and arenas of the World Cup soccer tournament right now. With Australia getting their asses whooped, New Zealand suprisingly holding back the reigns of the Italian Stallions and the Swiss giving Spain some of their smooth cheese. It's crazy out there!!! Whats also crazy is this fine cardboard animation put together by Sir Moving Pictures I found over at Vimeo today. Man, i love this story! What a great way to talk about issues regarding equal rights by using a medium and an icon that the the entire world is watching right now. Very clever and some fine narration too. Love the voice. It's a goal in my book!

Happy Monday folks! The sun is out, the temperature is up (if you're in London it's rare) so it's a perfect time for a nude skate to the shops to get some bread and milk. If you're back in Melbourne or any other southern land then i woodn't suggest going full nude. At least wear some ankle warmers or something just to keep your feet nimble! Woodn't want you to go into a tight heel turn and you can't because you have ankle freeze! shhhhhit! So, in other news, Wimbledon starts today! Happy days, C'mon Hewy! I'm picking Hewy 6-0 6-2 7-6 vs Fed in the final! And Sammy 6-0 6-0 vs Henin in the women's! ooooh yeah! OK, enjoy your week kids. Play safe!

Dr Lakra is a tattoo artist living and working near Mexico City. I love the work of Lakra for so many reasons. Why? Well i love anything from the 40's, 50's n 60's, especially pinups and vintage products and when i saw Dr Lakra's transfers of 'enhanced' tattoos of bats, demons, spiders and the faces of pouting vixens onto figures in 50’s Mexican magazines I was knocked off my seat. Oh how bad i want one of these as an original!! You had me at Pin-up girls, wrestlers, beauties and cuties! Not much of a web presence for Dr.Lakra but you can find out more over here

Listen up Folks. With the succesfull Melbourne launch and national book signings for Street/Studio under wraps i'm proud to announce the book is getting it's wings for an international launch date at Black Rat Projects in East London on Thursday 8 July 2010. Black Rat is one of London's premier gallery spaces so combine this with the awesomeness of Street/Studio and you've got a date not to be missed. Get out your diaries folks and memo this shit. It's one night only show so come one, come many. There will be books, book signing by 2 parts of the Author crew Miso & Timba along with some original artwork on display and a number of artist prints from the artists feature in Street/Studio. If it's anything like the Melbourne launch (which i flew home to Oz for) you won't want to miss this. more info at www.streetstudiobook.com

Without sounding too nerdy, COMIC BOOKS ARE RAD! I can't say i've even read a full one before and i'm certainly no collector but i do have a keen interest in the art of comic books. So when i look at the work of Canadian comic artist & illustrator Phil Noto who cleverly combines comic book art with my favourite of styles: 'the vintage one', it makes me all happy inside! What is also interesting is that Phil has only been in comics a short time really, but he's attracted a legion of fans with his sexy, vintage spy girls and classic and styled approach. And like me, most of the illustrators Noto digs worked in the 50's and 60's. We're talking uys like Robert McGinnis (BIG FAN), you know, the guy who did most of the old James Bond posters n shit! You can check out more of Phil's work at www.notoart.com
