Ok, so it's not really something we celebrate back home but here in London town is Guy Fawkes day and things are gearing up for a nice little fireworks display this evening. Lets hope it doesn't rain like they say it will. Guy Fawkes (13 April 1570 – 31 January 1606), also known as Guido Fawkes, planned the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605 where he secured the lease to an undercroft beneath the House of Lords placing a charge of the gunpowder they stockpiled there. But during the early hours of 5 November, guards found Fawkes guarding the explosives. He got arrested then hung, well not really he broke his own neck before they got the chance. So in summary Fawkes became synonymous with the Gunpowder Plot, which has been commemorated in England since 5 November 1605. His effigy is burned on a bonfire, often accompanied by a firework display. You may also remeber the film adaptation V for Vendetta starring my future wife... Natalie Portman.

I swear i've got to get a chair that i can strap myself into everytime i have a look over at the website of my man Nate Holmes Trapnell for i keep falling off it in sheer delight and amazement. With every new solo show Nate keeps upping the ante and with his latest series CARNIVAL it sure looks 100 paces past fucking incedible!!! I'm loving the new direction Nate is going bringing in some soft muted tones of colour into his work and some serious detailed shading. Whats next huh? I don't know but i sure am excited. This shit just keeps getting better and better. Check out his work at www.thesouthpaw.com.au

Martin Ansin is an illustrator working from Montevideo, where he says the summer is not too hot, the winter is not too cold, and where the people are not that many. Ansin's work is absolutely amazing and shows a great deal of detail, love and thought which has gone into each and everyone of his works. He has a lot of work up on his portfolio site found here: www.martinansin.com but he also has a really neat visual diary blog called EverthingYouDoIsABalloon which you can see some of his working files, read through his thoughts and be involved in his creative process. You can check it out over here

Moxy Creative have been doing these pretty neat poster series for a while now but i like this series in particular. To celebrate the launch of EveryGuyed (a website dedicated to advice on men’s fashion, style and grooming), Moxy Creative have created Framework: Iconic Eyewear posters. The poster collection, which will set you back $30 each (limited to only 50 made) highlights the most iconic men’s eyewear of the last 100 years, and includes a compilation poster featuring 28 of the most iconic glasses from male personalities in music, film, entertainment, and politics.
